 Janie bought 30 oranges for $15. How many oranges can Laura buy if she has $6?

May 28th, 2015

Let the number of oranges be R

so 30R = 15

R = 15/30 = 0.5

one orange (R) = $0.5

if Laura has $6 then the number of oranges she can buy will be

6/0.5 = 12

         = 12 oranges

All the best!!
