Of the different forms of energy available, solar energy is the most abundant and cleanest
renewable energy. Globally, United States has the richest solar energy resources. Currently, with
enormous technology evolution, it is possible to harness this energy in different ways. Ones
harnessed, an avenue will be opened for the commercial entities and the public to adopt more
flexible ways when it comes to utilization of light and heart harvested from the sun. When it
comes to harnessing of solar energy, there are three primary technologies that the energy
engineers can use. The photovoltaic (PV) technology that converts right from the sun directly to
electricity. Concentrating solar power (CSP); this technology uses thermal energy from the sun
to drive utility-scale, electric turbines. This technology provides an avenue to use solar energy
for cooling and heating. There are different distribution generation that can be used for the
deployment of solar energy. Other technologies can further be expanded into a utility scale, in
which the application will aim at the production of solar energy from a central power point.
