In triangle ABC, if C=20 degrees, B=110 degrees, and b=22 inches, find the length of the other two sides a and c

May 28th, 2015

Since we know an angle AND it's opposite side we use The Law of Sines

22 / sin110 = c / sin20

c = 22sin20 / sin110

c = 8 inches

To find a, we need to know angle A

Angle A is 180 - (110+20) = 180 - 130 = 50 degrees

Therefore, using Law of Sines again,

22 / sin110 = a / sin50

a = 22sin50 / sin110

a = 17.9 inches
