GLST 220 Liberty University Cultural Quotient in Management Discussion
Topic: CQ in the Marketplace
Read a Scholarly Article about CQ: For this discussion, each student will need to select a scholarly journal article about CQ in a specific professional discipline. Note that a variety of articles have been provided to relate to a large selection of degree fields and professional interests; however, if a student does not find an article which matches their interests, they can do their own research to find a different article. You should send the article to your professor and get prior approval before using an article if it is different than the ones provided.
Thread: Once you have read your article please answer the following questions in your thread: (Questions in parenthesis are suggestions to help guide your writing).
Briefly summarize the article. (What were the researchers studying? What was the primary thesis of the article? How did they conduct their research? What were the results?)
Using this article as well as other course materials, discuss the implications of Cultural Intelligence in your chosen professional field. (What cross-cultural challenges exist in your profession? How will having high CQ help to address those challenges? What other research needs to be done in order to develop high CQ in your field?)
Imagine you were creating a professional development seminar on cultural intelligence for professionals in your chosen field. Aside from simply defining CQ, what topics would you focus on? How would you help your attendees practically apply CQ to your field?

Love PSA
For this assignment, you will create your own original PSA. A public service announcement (PSA) informs us about something important, and the purpose of a PSA is to benefit the public by raising awareness about an issue or topic.
This unit has been about love, so this assignment will involve the same. What issue are you especially passionate about and would love to see change? What issue would you be willing to devote your life to out of great depths of love?
First, choose your topic.
Second, research your topic.
Third, create your PSA slide. This slide needs comprehensive depth and detail! This slide should provide a full stand-alone message.
Fourth, compose the paragraph. This slide contains additional specific detail related to the PSA on slide 1.
Fifth, create the works cited slide for all sources used including image(s).
Your PSA should:
Include a “hook” that grabs the viewer’s attention.
Use font and color choices wisely and purposefully. For example, bold font can emphasize key points.
Be in Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF file format and not hand drawn/created. If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint, download the free OpenOffice software here: https://www.openoffice.org/ You must save the OpenOffice file though as a PDF file format. The saving to PDF option is located in the toolbar and looks like a piece of paper with the letters PDF in red and white.
Contain 1 related image and at least 1 credible source for information.
Have no mechanical errors.
Sources credited in MLA format. Use the CRAAP Tool to evaluate source credibility.
Slide 1 of your document will contain the PSA with the image(s) and sufficient text depth and detail.

CHLDV 135 Glendale Community College Early Childhood Observation Essay
The rationale for the observation assignment is that after studying textbook material, and varying forms of media, seeing and hearing children in real time observation cements knowledge of child development age characteristics. Observation #2 focuses on "EARLY CHILDHOOD," or what is referred to as "the preschool years!". The ideal observation experience is an environment where preschool aged children (ages 2 - 6) can be observed. This reality was a major reason for the acquisition of the GCC Child Development Center. Students used this campus site, or other community resources for observations. It was typical for students to choose two year old's, or three year old's, or four year old's for the assignment. Each age is unique due to maturation and developmental characteristics. Due to the current pandemic, change may be a necessity. In its place, well chosen videos enable observation data. Professor Baumann Riddle is available for suggestions on suitable videos. When performing an observation, it is recommended that one half of the allotted time be used to observe several children of similar ageinteracting in the environment. This can be followed by a second time frame where one child is selected to be observed. Taking notes the entire time, will enable a RUNNING RECORD that has rich data from which to compose the required essay. The required follow-up to the observation is a presentation written according to a particular format. It includes a Running Record, where all that was seen and heard was written in "note" form. The essay paper is focused on the Developmental Domains. It begins with an Introduction, and continues with a paragraph on EACH Domain: Physical Development and Health in Early Childhood, Cognitive and Language Development in Early Childhood, and Social and Emotional Development in Early Childhood. The essay ends with a Conclusion. You will have a minimum of three papers: 1. Cover Sheet; 2. Running Record; 3. Essay paper.RUNNING RECORDThe Running Record keeps track of everything that happens in a specified time period" (Essa, 2007). "Its purpose lies in the fact that a well written Running Record lets someone else read the description later and visualize the scene or events as it is recorded" (Carter, 2009). When students of child development are given the opportunity to observe children in person, they become able to contrast data learned through readings and media presentations with the actual experience of seeing behaviors and hearing interactions. It is the very best way to develop an understanding of the developmental stages of children. When performing an observation, it is recommended that 1/2 of the allotted time be used to observe several children of similar age interacting in the environment. This can be followed by a second time frame where "1" child is selected to be observed. When taking notes for a running record, an observer's attention is focused only on several children of similar age; or on one child. It might be necessary to reposition oneself in order to see and hear everything. Record in sequence all activity observed, as well as quotations of speech heard. It is recommended that students recall the importance of gathering data on each of the developmental domains: Physical Development, Cognitive Development, and Social and Emotional Development. To complete each observation requirement, an essay follows the Running Record, and is composed of a paragraph on each developmental domain. It is requested that only objective statements be used. In future child development courses, students may be required to interpret behaviors, and this might lend itself to subjective statements. An objective statement contains only what was seen and heard. OBSERVATION FORMATINTRODUCTION: This paragraph describes the observation site. It must include the date, address, and time of visit. Descriptive data on the children in attendance, as well as the inside and outside of the site must be included.DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE DETAIL: An important part of the Observation follow-up is the Running Record (see previous screen). To prepare for writing this, review the Observation assignment. It is positive to include time segments, and then the actions seen and the vocalizations heard. The rationale behind this assignment is for students to become familiar with age related characteristics of children at different stages of their development! In the Running Record, be careful to write ONLY what you see and hear. There are to be no interpretations of behaviors/actions! DEVELOPMENTAL DOMAINS: Create 3 paragraphs in this portion of your paper. There is one paragraph for Physical Development; another paragraph for Cognitive Development; and the third paragraph for Social and Emotional Development. Within each paragraph, the characteristics that you observed and described in the Running Record are contained in the appropriate domain.CONCLUSION: This paragraph is an evaluation of the Observation. It must include the ways in which the experience contributed to a better understanding of children in a stage of growth and development. An evaluation of your personal experience is an important addition to the value of this paper.I have attached a file of an example of another observation assignment. Also whatever the professor added in the modules that might help. And the videos for the assignment. https://socialsci.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Early...
