Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper about how the organism has adapted to survive in their specific environment. Include the following points in your paper:

  • Briefly describe the environment (temperature, landscape, food sources, etc.) and describe the organism's role in the environment. Determine which organism your chosen organism would be most closely related to using a phylogenetic tree.
  • Identify the structures and functions of the main organs found in your selected organism.
  • Explain how the organism has evolved physiologically to become suited to its environment.
  • Explain how things would change if the organism were to be transplanted to a significantly different environment:
  • Would their organ system still be as efficient? Why or why not?
  • Would the organism survive in this new environment? Why or why not?

The butterfly resides in a farm north of my home. The farm is a vast land with corn planted
in it. The homesteads are decorated in a traditional sense although they capture a beauty that can’t
compare to most modern houses. The lifestyle there is simple, and they appreciate the environment
because it’s what feeds them. The soil provides their food, and so, they would do anything to
preserve its richness. These homesteads have flower gardens where the owners get the flowers to
decorate their houses. Everything over there is fresh. The homesteads are a haven for the
butterflies. You will find them flying around. They are of different colors, blue, red, yellow with
beautiful patterns on their wings. The butterflies mostly suck nectar from the flowers. They also
suck tree sap. These food sources keep them full enough to flap their wings and fly whenever. The
temperature there is moderate, nothing extreme. There is sunshine most of the time, sometimes it
rains, and once in a while, there is a storm. The climate is favorable to the butterflies. Butterflies
play an important role in the environment. They are important to the food chain (Mohandas, 2016).
Bird and bats prey on butterflies. They are also beneficial in the pollination process in flowers.
