Renewable Energy Currently, due to the global economic crisis, there is a decline in prices for oil and its derivatives. As extraction of oil from tar sands has a negative impact on the environment, ecological issues are investigated. At the same time, the primary consumers of petroleum products continue to work on the creation and implementation of energy saving and the search for alternative technologies. For example, Electric cars are the solution to climate change and local air pollution in big cities, especially in conditions when more renewable energy is produced and can be used at a local level based on the principles of decentralization and efficiency. Electric vehicles also concern public transportation, namely rapid transit, light rail, electric buses and trolleybuses, and other less used means of public transportation. It contributes to the better situation on the roads and convenience of the city dwellers’ commuting. Electric bicycles and personal transporters are also contributing to the individual comfort and sustainability of the cities. Taking into account technological, economic, environmental, social, and political factors, I think that electric vehicles should be supported by governments and popularized among wider audiences as the effective response to global warming, efficient and convenient means of the transportation system for the benefits of each individual and planet Earth at all.
