3) a. plotting the graph it is a U-shaped curve with a minima at (0,-2)

b. the graph is a function, because when we assume that it is a straight line then picking two points randomly, the gradients are not the same.

4). 2x^2-5x-3 can be written as 2x^2-6x+x-3

factoring the equation, 2x(x-3)+1(x-3)

 2x^2-6x+x-3=(2x+1)(x-3) domains are all real numbers
