while traveling down a street is 50%.  If there are ten (10) stoplights on your way to work,

a) what is the probability of  having three red lights stop you?

c)  what is the probability of every light being red?

I assume that lights can be either red or green, the probability of either is 0.5

The probability distribution to be used  is binomial, like flipping a coin. We consider each red light a "tail"

a) The probability of 3 tails out of 10 tosses is given by:

[10!/(3!7!)]*0.5^3*0.5^7=0.117188

b) The probability of 10 tails out of 10 tosses is given by:

[10!/(0!10!)]*0.5^10*0.5^0=0.000977

Good Luck!
