Cant come up with any ideas for my project since my teacher wasnt specific enough! directions say " do a presentation on a topic of Physics based on the LATEST developments, discoveries, and/or applications of science to modern technology. Include supporting theory and examples."

any easy ideas will do please i have tried everything ):

gravity survey for disintegrated zone identification: geophysics.

 Specific Objectives

To determine variation in the Earth’s gravitational field caused by different distribution of densities.

To delineate areas with anomalous gravity

theories:

Gravity in geophysical terms is the force due to the integrated mass of the whole earth which acts on the mechanism of the measuring instrument.Force=gravitational constant (G) × mass of the earth (M) × mass (m)/ (Distance between masses (R)) 2

Where the gravitational constant, G=6.67×10-11 Nm2kg-2

Force is proportional to the mass since high density bodies will produce more gravity anomaly than low density bodies. The effect of the geological structure over the observed gravitational acceleration can be illustrated from the figure shown below.

Theoretical gravity, which ranges from about 978 000 mGal at the equator to 983 000

mGal at the poles is calculated on the geoid before corrections are applied. If base reoccupations are done approximately every hour, known errors such as the earth tide are well approximated by the removal of a drift correction that is linear with time.To increase the accuracy of the location of stations a modern GPS. The sensitivity of the Worden gravimeter is about ten parts per million. The small numbers results to the sub units being used such as

milliGal (1 mGal=10-3Gal)

microGal (1microGal=10-6Gal

1 gravity unit= 1 g.u(10gu=1mgal)
