In cell division, non disjunction is termed as the failure of a paired chromosomes to separate or to disjoin at the time of cell division. Therefore, both chromosomes move to one daughter cell and none go to the other daughter cell. Non disjunction results to errors in chromosome number and cause effects such as  the Down syndrome and Turner syndrome. Additionally, it is a common cause of early spontaneous abortions.
