a) Description of the event
Back in 2002, my grandmother slipped and fell when she was getting out of bed early one
morning. Her bed broke, and as she fell down, her head was hit by one edge of the bed. The hit
caused her to have a concussion, which was what we thought she had at first. When we took her
to the hospital, it was discovered that she had a cracked skull. She was admitted and spent some
days in hospital for surveillance. During one of our visits, we were accompanied by our former
family doctor who was also an old friend of my grandmother. He got a chance to see her report
and advised us not to allow my grandmother to undergo a CT scan since the movement would
extend the crack in her skull. He communicated this to the doctor-in-charge of her case in the
hospital. The doctor in charge of my grandmother’s case also confirmed it as well. After a week
we found out that my grandmother underwent a CT scan, which led her to loss her coherent
speech and sight. This was due to the fact that the movement she underwent during the CT scan
intensified her condition. Having confirmed with the doctor-in-charge, our family was left with
