about a study you would like to explore in your future or current career that
could be analyzed with ANOVA. To help design the study, please answer the
following: What is the independent variable? What are your levels of the
independent variable? What is the dependent variable? What do you expect to
find if you ran the study? ?
Please list this out both in statistical language (make up some numbers) as
well as real-world language. What
would you expect to find with post hoc analyses?
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
1.An independent variable is the variable you have control over, what you can choose and manipulate. It is usually what you think will affect the dependent variable. In some cases, you may not be able to manipulate the independent variable.
3.A dependent variable is what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the experiment. The dependent variable responds to the independent variable. It is called dependent because it "depends" on the independent variable. In a scientific experiment, you cannot have a dependent variable without an independent variable.
Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
