Description

The parts of the research paper must include the following elements:

1- Title page

2- Full-Scentense Outline

3- Body of the paper (1800-2500 words)

4- Works cited page (8 sources) in MLA citations

5- If you decide to use quotes use up to 2 quotes per page.

My research is on North Korea. Specifically on the human rights violations and the harsh punishments that happen under the Kim regime.

My thesis is: The North Korean regime’s decision to ignore its desperately in need citizens has created an extremely low standard of living for the people, along with an unforgiving political system in which people face cruel punishments for the slightest action against the government, those punishments include labor camps, torture, death. It is up to the US and UN to intervene and stop the atrocities and hold the regime accountable.

You may modify the thesis add or remove from it, but it is also important to stay on the main topic.

It is also important to mention a call to action in the conclusion that urges to reader to go out and do something. This can really be anything from a civil protest urging the government to intervene or a social media movement to call out the North Korea government to stop torturing its people.

Argument is discussed in The Little, Brown Handbook in Chs. 8 and 9. In the introduction of an argumentative essay, students need to offer any necessary background information, restrictions/limitations, or definitions. Once this material is offered, then offer any motivator and, finally, offer a thesis. The thesis should meet three criteria: it must attempt to change people's minds/urge them to do something: it must offer a position with which people can realistically disagree; and it should present a position that does not already have a collective solution/belief in place. Further, in the thesis, avoid absolutes, such as “no, never, not, always.” Finally, the thesis should present a statement that indicates “what ought to be," not “what is. In the body paragraphs, students need to offer a topic sentence, which meets the following three criteria: it needs to offer a transition; it needs to offer a thesis reminder; and it needs to state the topic of the paragraph, the reason that supports the thesis. After the topic sentence, students should offer a rebuttal from the opposition, those who believe differently; give the opposition's stance on the topic sentence. Then students need to either refute, show how the opposition's idea is incorrect, or concede, agree that the opposition has a good point, but there is more to the concept. Failure to include the opposition is a significant deficit in one's argument, so be sure to incorporate it. Finally, students can offer their own evidence to support their claim. Evidence can be derived from facts, statistics, testimonials, and examples. NOTE: Many credible sources illustrate another argument shape that offers the opposition in opening body paragraphs and the writer's points in the latter body paragraphs; this structure is valid, especially for longer-length essays. For the purposes of our assignment, the above-detailed structure seems best (see LBH 219). The conclusion of an argumentative essay typically begins with a restated thesis; this addition is imperative since the reader has been presented with two belief systems: the writer's and the opposition's. Once the thesis is restated, some common endings involve a call to action, a proposed solution, or a judgmental statement. If none of these endings align with the content of the body paragraphs, then simply end the essay by referring back to the motivator in the introduction. Finally, while students are shaping their argument, keep in mind the need to speak to the readers via logical, emotional, and ethical appeals; use any and all appeals to best prove the assertion. Remember that well-written, articulate arguments are the most persuasive. What would convince you if you were the reader? Think of this answer wuhile

The Human Rights Violations and Harsh Treatment in North Korea
The Korean Peninsula has two nations, and this dates back to the Korean War of 1953.
The North of Korea is communist while the South is democratic. However the people of Korea
are the same and cannot be distinguished, there is a severe enmity which started during the war
and is yet to end. Kim II Sung is said to be behind this enmity as he created an inhumane
government that worked so hard to embody the ideals and ambitions of the North Korea people.
The North Korea people have suffered in the hands of dictators all of who are direct descendants
of Kim II Sung (Close, Paul, and David, n.p). These dictators are responsible for the current
situation in North Korea where there is a systematic violation of civil and human rights. North
Korea through their authorities has been accused of human rights violation which spans
from violation of human rights to essentials such as food and other human necessities. The North
Korean authority has also been accused of violation of human rights in different levels and at
different capacities especially with regards to prison torture, arbitrary detention, violation of the
human right to life, violation of the rights and freedom of expression of the North Koreans, and
most important the violation of the human rights to movement (Close, Paul, and David, n.p). In
North Korea, the citizens are exposed to certain ills which in essence are conducted by the ruling
authority which is authoritative and does not regard the rights of its citizens. The North Korean
decision to ignore its citizen’s urgent call and their disparate need have created a deficient
standard of living for its people together with authoritative and unforgiving political system in
which people face cruel punishment for any slight action against the government. Those found to
be defiant or against the ruling authority face cruel actions including labor camps, torture, and
even death. The U.S and the U.N must intervene to help stop the different forms of atrocities that
the regime exercise against its citizens and hold the Kim Jong-un’s regime accountable (Close,
Paul, and David, n.p).
Kim Jong-un, the leader of the North Korea ruling party Worker’s Party of Korea, has
been behind all the ills and atrocities that are exercised against the innocent civilians in North
Korea. The leader continues to exercise total control and both political and economic wise not
allowing any form of opposition within the country. The leader has been accused in several
occasions for his unforgiving and unwelcomed control dictatorship which continue to affect the
country both politically and economically. North Korea has been a country that continues to be
avoided by many people across the globe due to its closed and unwelcoming nature. The country
has been known for its association with dangerous weapons that continue to threaten the peace
and security both within the country internationally. In 2017, the country came under intense
criticism for its illegal and unacceptable conduct in which the country fired 23 missiles during
their so-called 16 tests. The country has also been accused of testing its missiles in their border
with South Korea something that continues to ...
