Two men decide to use their cars to pull a truck stuck in mud. They attach ropes and one pulls with a force of 733 N at an angle of 26◦ with respect to the direction in which the truck is headed, while the other car pulls with a force of 1205 N at an angle of 18◦ with respect to the same direction.

What is the net forward force exerted on the truck in the direction it is headed? Answer in units of N.

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Net forward force= F Cos 26 degrees + F Cos 18 degrees

Net forward force= 733Cos 26 + 1205 Cos 18=

Net forward force= 658.82+1146.02= 1804.84N

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
