The probability that there will be a power failure during a snowstorm is .35. The probability that the generator will stop working during a snowstorm is .05. Find the probability that during a snowstorm the company will have at least one power source. Of course, the two power sources function independently.

the company should have either the two sorces or the generator or main power

the company cannot use both, hence it

using each power source is 50/50, with probability of 0.5 and 0.5

using generator=0.5*0.95=0.475

main power=0.5*0.65=0.325

=0.475(0.325)

=0.1544

=0.1544 or (0.05)(0.95) or (0.35)(0.65)

=0.1544+0.0475+0.2275

=0.4294 is the probability
