Describe two evolutionary consequences if the process of crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur.

If meiosis does not occur properly, an ovum or spermertozoa will end more than expected chromosomes, or not enough chromosomes. Upon fertilization, the offspring will then receive an extra chromosome resulting to trisomy, or might have a missing chromosome called a monosomy
