a butterfly can fly 82 feet in 4 seconds.  a dragonfly can fly 50 feet in 2 seconds.  which can fly faster and by how much?

it is important to obtain the speeds of both the butterfly and the dragon.  speed is calculated by distance divided by time. Therefore:

butterfly - 82 feet/4seconds = 20.5 feet/sec

dragon- 50 feet/2 seconds = 25 feet/sec

the butterfly is faster by 4.5 feet/sec
