Traditional foods are the type of diet which nourished our forefather’s throughout the

historical and prehistorically period. I agree with the article that meat, fish, and fowl were highly
used and were obtained from animals. In addition, different animal parts had different uses
depending with the society, for example, in some societies bones were modified to make broth
while tallow and sublets were used to preserve and prepare other foods. Fats and oil were also
essential towards the health of the ancestors and were obtained from saturated sourced. Fats were
preferred since they were the great sources of vitamin K, E, A and D. Additionally, other
varieties of food such as fruits and vegetable were consumed in their raw state, and some were
preserved for fermentation (McGruther, n.d).
I believe that nuts, seeds, grains, and legumes were highly utilized by soaking and
fermenting them to lower the level of anti-nutrient in the nuts. These practices facilitated
digestions of the grains. Products such as Milk and dairy products were consumed after
fermentation and sometimes in its raw form. Other food substances such as sweeteners were not
easily accessible especially by the poor.
Methodology
The writer has used a quantitative method of presenting his information. The description
of the food has been done using words to display all the statistic of the food. The writer has
surveyed several societies and has discovered the type of traditional food they utilized. The
author has also established the state at which each food was consumed, and the state for example
grains were eaten when in whole.
