PART 1: CHEAP MEAT DISCUSSION
The issue of cheap meat and mutton flaps caused a discussion which was based
both the negative and negative impacts on the eaters and the world at large. Initially, my
opinion on the issue was that mutton flaps and cheap meat are the primary cause of
diseases such as obesity and hypertension which has spread all over the Pacific island.
Therefore, I believed that the illumination of cheap meat would act as an advantage to the
targeted population. After the debate that was held on the issue, I am confident to state
that my position on the issue has not changed and I am still against the consumption and
importation of mutton flaps to Pacific island. My decision was made based on the
evidence provided below.
The debate on cheap meat was based on the reasons behind the importations, the
effects of consumption of mutton flaps and most importantly the health of the consumers.
Cheap meat is produced in countries like Australia and New Zealand; they are processed
and packed in cardboard then imported to small states and towns such as Pacific island
(Gewertz & Errington, 2010). The flaps are not consumed in the countries they are
produced for unknown reasons. The introduction of a lot of meat in a diet was a result of
globalization. The diet of people can either describe their culture or do away with it.
