Where are you from-Where did you grow up and did your hometown, state or country
influence your political beliefs?

I am from San Diego, California. I grew up in this city since my parents move in here from Santa
Barbara when I was young. Yes in a way. When I was growing up, the city was more of
Republican than Democrat inclined. There was the set of belief that the Republican was better
since the area was historically known to be a huge supporter. Over the years, this perception
changed and people would vote Democrats. This could tell you that there was a wave of change
in political ideology in the city.

How did you learn about the government growing up?

Most of my knowledge politics emanated from the media. When I was growing up, there was the
huge wave of Republicans versus Democrats in the city and all over the country. I grew curious
to know and understand the differences and different inclinations on economic, political and
social aspects.

Did your family discuss politics? Were you encouraged or discouraged to participate in
politics?

Not at all; my family...
