The Milgram experiment on obedience highlights various ethical issues that can arise in dealing with human subjects. One of these is the use of deception by the experimenter: lying to the subject about the nature of the task; using a confederate, administering bogus shocks. I think Milgram had to do this because of the nature of the experiment. The issue is resolved in the debriefing stage, by giving the full details and purpose of the experiment (as Milgram did). Additionally, the experimenter should apologise for having to use decption to carry out the experiment ,(This was not done - and should be done)/
