Introduction
HIV/AIDS remains one of the most significant global health issues that healthcare
systems have to deal with. While the most significant of the people living with HIV/AIDs live
outside the US, the few struggling with the condition continue to face numerous challenges
especially about the access to care. Discrimination both from the healthcare service providers
and the public remains one of the greatest challenges that individuals living with HIV continue to
face (Ford, 2016). Being denied appropriate services, being offered inappropriate care, and being
exposed to various unethical practices such as exposure of their confidential health information
are some of the challenges these patients face in the healthcare system. Addressing these
concerns and ensuring that individuals struggling with HIV have access to quality, affordable,
and patient-centered care remains a major priority for many (Herring, 2017). As a result, it is
important to come up with mechanisms which ensure that this group of patients is offered the
care they deserve in a respectful and caring manner. Where incidences of denial of care are
reported, USA Community Hospital will need to come up with a plan which ensures that such
claims are addressed effectively.
