Two times the complement of an angle is 23 less than the supplement of the angle. Find the supplement of the angle

Two angles are said to be complementary angles  if they add up to 90 degrees and  are said  to supplemetary   if they angle add up to 180 degrees.

let the angle be x

its complement is 90 - x  and its supplement  is 180 - x

hence 2(90-x) is 23 less than (180 - x)

so

 (180 - x) - 23 = 2(90-x)

180 - x - 23 = 180 - 2x

157 - x = 180 - 2x

157- 180 = - 2x + x

- 23 = - x

x = 23

so its supplement is 157 degrees.
