Find the distance between A(4, -2) and B(10, -7)

Jun 9th, 2015

Hi !

A(4, -2) and B(10, -7)

Using distance formula which is

d = √ [ (y2 - y1)^2 + (x2 - x1)^2 ]

Now putting the values, we get

d = √ [ (- 7 + 2)^2 + (10 - 4)^2 ]

d = √ [ (- 5)^2 + (6)^2 ]

d = √ [ 25 + 36 ]

d = √61

Hence the distance between them is √61 or 7.81.

Hope you get it. Thanks :)
