Intro -spirituality
and creativity: Ok, so we are going to be using words like "spirit"
and "spirituality," but we probably all have very different ideas of
what those words mean. We'll have to be clear about our own use of the words,
and be respectful of others' different uses. As a start, read
over the short Intro and give your response to Dunham's explanation of his use
of the words: "art," "spirituality," and "creative

American History and Bailyn and Nash Respective Arguments Paper
Hi,I need 2 – 3 typed
and double-spaced paper about American history, specifically about (Unit
Three) — “Debating the Origins of the American Revolution”. This is a
reading and writing assignment.I will provide you with link and access to the EBook once my offer has been accepted.Book: David Emory Shi, America: The Essential Learning Edition — Volume I, 2nd Edition, W. W. Norton & Company, Inc. (2018)Reading Assignment (from your textbook):“Thinking Like a Historian” — Debating the Origins of the American Revolution, 148-151Secondary Source 1 — Bernard Bailyn, The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution (1992)Secondary Source 2 — Gary Nash, “Social Change and the Growth of Prerevolutionary Urban Radicalism” (1976)Primary Source 1 — John Dickinson, “Letter from a Farmer in Pennsylvania” (1767)Primary Source 2 — Governor Francis Bernard, “Letter to the Lords of Trade” (1765)Instructions: Note:
The “Thinking Like a Historian” sections of your textbook provide us an
opportunity to understand how (and why) historians have interpreted the
past in different ways. By highlighting the works of two historians
from different time periods, these sections give us a glimpse into the
field of historiography — the history of doing history. These brief
excerpts are “secondary sources” — sources produced by scholars after the fact. In addition, your textbook author (David Emory Shi) has included primary documents
to be read alongside of the secondary source excerpts. Primary
documents are historical artifacts that comes from the time period under
examination and can take a variety of forms (ie letters, diaries,
political documents, movies, advertisements, etc.). In
this first “Thinking Like a Historian” section, Shi provides excerpts
from two renowned historians of the Revolutionary era who have different
interpretations for how and why the Revolution occurred. After reading
the two excerpted secondary sources and the two primary sources
carefully, write a two to three typed and double-spaced paper with standard font and margins that answers the question in bold below.Based
on what you’ve read in your textbook so far, with particular attention
to the two primary documents in the “Thinking Like a Historian” section,
which historian — Bailyn or Nash — do you think has the stronger
interpretation. Why?In
responding to the question above, you should include a brief summary of
both Bailyn and Nash’s respective arguments and you should take into
consideration how the two primary documents either strengthen or weaken
those arguments.

University of Miami Mercy Killing and Medical Ethics Research Paper and PPT
Research proposal:Research Proposal InstructionsChoosing a Topic - Read the Research Paper Instructions on Canvas before choosing a topic.- Then, think of an ethical dilemma related to your major or career goals.- You can choose a topic that has been in the news for a while, such as climate change or gun control. Or, you may find it interesting to research a newly emerging topic, such as cultural appropriation or artificial intelligence. It can also work to choose a topic connected to a specific job, such as how psychologists should approach ____, how real estate brokers should approach ___, etc., filling in the blank with a dilemma.Grading: Your proposal grade will be based on the detail and thoroughness of your answers to the following questions.Questions: Answer each of the following in 6-8 sentences:1. What ethical dilemma have you chosen? Why is it controversial?2. Why does this interest you? How does it relate to your major or career goals?3. What are a few key issues that you hope to explore in your research?Annotated bibliography:Annotated Bibliography InstructionsOverview - The annotated bibliography will list sources for your research project, presented with bibliographical details and short annotation paragraphs.- If you have not done so, please read the Research Paper Instructions on Canvas before completing this assignment.Sources: Include the following sources in your annotated bibliography: - At least 6 peer-reviewed sources- At least 4 other reputable outside sourcesThe research paper will also cite a professional code of ethics and two course readings, but you do not need to include those in your annotated bibliography.Finding Peer-Reviewed Sources- Peer-reviewed sources include scholarly journal articles or books published by university presses (Harvard University Press, State University of New York Press, etc.).- The Lynn library books page (including an ebooks page) and scholarly articles page can help you find these sources.- The best sources for this project will be ones that give a good overview of your topicwithout too much technical terminology. For example, you may find a book chapter that summarizes background facts about your topic. For journal articles, the best are often survey articles that summarize the results from several previous studies.Finding Other Reputable Sources- Other reputable outside sources include news reports, government data, or interviews or videos from recognized experts. These kinds of sources can be especially helpful if your topic has been in the news recently and there are late-breaking developments not discussed in your peer-reviewed sources.- Be sure to avoid authors that are biased or do not have expertise on the topic.- Many of the items linked on the Opposing Viewpoints in Context site would work well as reputable outside sources.Bibliography Format- Give the full bibliographic information for each source using APA style, as you would on an APA References page (the library APA page can help for this).- Also, remember to put entries in alphabetical order by the author’s last name.Annotation Paragraphs- Under each entry, include an annotation paragraph of 150-200 words, using correct spelling, grammar, and writing style.- Use this paragraph to summarize the source’s main ideas and evaluate its usefulness and relevance to your research (for example, what themes or data from the source you may want to incorporate into your paper).- Some other things you discuss, when relevant, are the authority or background of the author, the intended audience, and how the source fits with your other sources.Grading: Each entry will form 10% of the bibliography grade, with your score for each entry based on the following criteria.20% Type of source: 6 peer-reviewed, 4 other reputable outside sources20% Bibliography format: Include full bibliographic information for each source, using correct APA style. List sources in alphabetical order.60% Annotation paragraphs: Include 150-200 words per source. Summarize and evaluate your sources as described above. Use correct spelling, grammar, and writing style.Research paper:Genre: Persuasive Length: 4500-5000 wordsTopic: Choose an ethical dilemma that arises in a profession related to your major or career plans. Feel free to be creative :) In the paper, you will present background information concerning the dilemma, apply two ethical theories and a professional code of ethics to it, and defend your own proposed solution to the dilemma. Sources: 8 outside research sources (at least 6 peer-reviewed), 1 professional code of ethics, and 2 other course readingsList of Sections: Use the following sections in this order.1. Introduction (5% of the paper): Draw in the reader in an engaging way and introduce your topic. Make the last sentence a thesis presenting the solution you will defend.2. Background (30% of the paper): Present background details about your dilemma, including how it arises in a profession, relevant facts, history, laws, and current events, and some responses to the dilemma that have been considered. Give a general overview, while also focusing in particular on facts that will feed into your persuasive arguments later in the paper. Cite from 8 outside research sources as part of the background section. 6 should be peer-reviewed sources (scholarly journal articles or books published by university presses). Other sources can include news reports, essays, interviews, or videos from recognized and unbiased authorities.3. Theory Application (20% of the paper): Choose two ethical theories covered in the course—(a) Benedict’s cultural relativism, (b) Kant’s categorical imperative (either form), (c) Regan’s modified categorical imperative, (d) Mill’s utilitarianism, (e) Aristotle’s virtue ethics, or (f) Noddings’ care ethics. For each of the two you choose, take a paragraph to summarize the view and explain what it might recommend regarding your dilemma. Cite details from the relevant course reading for each theory. You can focus on theories that fit with your own eventual solution. For example, if you will give broadly utilitarian arguments later in the paper, then start here by describing what Mill would say about your topic. Alternatively, you may want to bring in a theory that you will ultimately reject. For example, if you will later argue that cultural relativism is inappropriate for resolving your dilemma, you could preview its response here, while noting that you will ultimately reject the theory.4. Professional Code Application (10% of the paper): Choose a professional code of ethics that relates to your dilemma and explain what it might recommend in regards to your topic, citing from the code of ethics. Give a general overview, while focusing in particular on details that feed into your persuasive arguments below.5. Persuasive Arguments (30% of the paper): Propose and defend a specific solution to your dilemma, using logically-compelling arguments. Your solution can be a certain “side” of the debate you believe is correct, or a more limited proposal or intervention to help address the dilemma. Do not just survey the different sides of the debate or summarize views you found in your research. Instead, defend a specific thesis with your own creative arguments. Bring in facts and concepts from earlier sections of the paper to help support your main claims. Anticipate questions or objections people might have about your solution and respond to them as part of this section. 6. Conclusion (5% of the paper): Signal the end of the paper and summarize your main conclusions. End with a memorable closing. Format and Documentation: Format the paper in APA style, using the Lynn Library Pre-Formatted APA Paper template. In addition, use correct APA style documentation, including quotation marks and in-text citations for direct quotes, in-text citations for paraphrases, and an APA style References page listing all sources used. Help with APA style can be found on the Lynn Library APA site. Librarians are also happy to help you create or proofread any needed citations.Grading: Your grade will be determined as follows, with the instructions above outlining the goals for each section. Papers short of the required length will lose points for not covering some sections in the expected level of detail.25% Background section25% Ethical theory and professional code sections25% Persuasive argument section5% Introduction and conclusion10% Spelling, grammar, and writing style10% APA format, citations, and References pageIn addition to your grade, which will be based on the above criteria, I will also complete a standard rubric associated with the paper on Canvas. The rubric marks will not directly affect your grade, but can give you a sense of how you are doing in various areas of the writing process. The row for Content Area will relate to paper content concerning background, ethical theories, and a professional code of ethics. The row for Writing Strategy will relate to your setup of the required paper sections.Research presentation:Research Proposal InstructionsChoosing a Topic - Read the Research Paper Instructions on Canvas before choosing a topic.- Then, think of an ethical dilemma related to your major or career goals.- You can choose a topic that has been in the news for a while, such as climate change or gun control. Purdue Global Issues Encountered to Human Service Professionals Discussion Paper
Community Resources HandoutHuman service professionals who work in the community may be expected to develop the skills necessary to engage in outreach, provide education to community members, assume an advocacy role, and influence policymakers. As a human service professional, connecting clients with appropriate community resources can have a profound impact on their health and quality of life. Therefore, you must be aware of the resources in your community, where to refer clients for special help, and what support systems exist in your community. Human service professionals can assume an advocacy role for disenfranchised clients whose background makes it difficult for them to utilize professional assistance; a community perspective emphasizes social change rather than merely helping people adapt to their circumstances.Assignment DirectionsFor this assignment you will be creating a 1-page community handout that presents information about resources that address the needs of an at-risk population in your community. The handout can be used to educate your community, influence policymakers, advocate for additional resources, and even bring with you on an interview with a community agency. Please be sure to address all of the following in your assignment:Provide a quote that captures the spirit of a community.Describe the community and provide an overview of the demographic statistics of population in the community.Tip: You may begin with the city/town/county website to obtain this information.Identify an at-risk population within the community that will benefit from the community resource handout (i.e., community members of color, individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, children at low-performing schools, families of incarcerated individuals, etc.).Examine three reasons as to why this population is considered at-risk (i.e., risk factors may be related to institutional or social conditions within the community, oppression, discrimination, access to care, etc.).Describe three specific challenges human service professionals may encounter when working with the at-risk population identified.Examples include: stigma related to the helping process, resistance to receiving outside help, challenges for this population in utilizing professional assistance, lack of trust between the population and helpers, social factors within the community that are barriers in accessing care, and/or institutional or social conditions that contribute to the community problems.Tip: Use the Purdue Global Library and APA in-text citations.Explore three local community resources that are available to the at-risk population (i.e., support groups, community health/mental health centers, community service programs, resources that address a particular basic need insecurity, etc.). Please include:a brief description of the resource (1–2 sentences)how clients would access the resources, anda link to the resource website.Using your previous assignments as a basis, analyze three professional skills you possess as they relate to work of advocating for the needs of the at-risk population.Assignment Guidelines: Your assignment should be 1-page handout and should include the following elements:Title: Insert a header to provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.Body: Answer all the questions. You may be creative in your handout design, though keep in mind the readability of the content (i.e., think about the colors/font used and accessibility).Your responses should reflect professional writing standards, using proper tone and language. The writing and writing style should be correct and accurate, and reflect knowledge of skills and practice in the human service profession.Reference page: Sources listed in APA format.Include a minimum of three scholarly or academic sources to support your responses and conclusions.Use Arial or Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced and left aligned.Use standard 1" margins on all sides.Use APA formatting and citation style.
