Ethical misconduct is not a new term when it comes to politics. Ethical misconduct
involves the mishandling of funds or unethical dealings such as corruption, sexual harassment, etc.
Many politicians have found themselves under the microscope for their unethical dealings. There
are members of Congress who have used the taxpayer’s money for their selfish reasons. For
example, you find that someone has been taken to court for sexually assaulting their subordinate
and because they’d rather the case go away instead of it dragging on for a long time; they decide
to settle their accuser. Saying that these folks don’t have the funds to pay their accusers would be
a lie because they have the money, but because of their selfish reasons, they often take the money
of the taxpayer and use it to pay the settlement.
Steve Stockman on 12th April 2018 was found guilty of corruption charges. Steve
Stockman defrauded two of his mega-donors and used the money for personal use and his
campaign activities (Platoff, 2018). This act landed him in court where the judge after reviewing
