Distance AB is found by using the distance formula:

 √(x2 – x1)² + ( y2-y1)²

=  √[( 5√6 - (- √6)] ² +[( √2 - 5√2 ] ²

=√[( 6√6 ) ² +[(  - 4√2 ] ²

=√( 36 * 6 + 16 *2)

=√( 216 + 32)

=√( 216 + 32)

==√248

=√ (144 *2)

=12√2

= 16.971 to 3 decimal places
