your question is unclear...is BD part of an ABC?( 4 sides of the parralelogram)..........................

otherwise as for my understanding.....i think BD should be perimeter or????

Yes, BD is part of an ABC, and BD isn't the perimeter. It's just finding the value of the variables, which my geometry teacher made extremely confusing for me.

unless something is said about the x and y equations....not possible to to come up with a viable answer!...if the two were the two sides of the parallelogram, then we would equate the variables with 4x-y+1

We could try with the original equation, that might work better than adding the other ones. I'm sorry about the confusion.
