MLA format 3 citations minimum Running Head: INTERVIEW 1 Interview Tips and Strategies Student's name Institution Date INTERVIEW TIPS AND STRATEGIES. 2 Bob Henry is a twenty-three years old man. His eyes were white and happy aside with his brows knitted well apart. He seemed to be happy for the blinks every time he changes his eye contact from anything Bob has a mouth which was generous. His face held ready to answer any question that comes across is wide and well matching ears. Every time he looked at me I struggled to remember the next question set for him to answer. I had three main question running over my interview questionnaire. These were; 1. How much experience he had about nursing and medicine in general? 2. How is their culture and traditions in Africa? 3. What was his view concerning leadership? He had medium sized legs which gave him less and lower gravitation pull hence making him strong, stable young man. His white being never seized him from practicing his father's culture. He had worn according to their culture. Indeed, he was a leader with a role to lead and control a particular group of people each of the led ones aiming a bright future. For me, he led by example. As it is to most us see a white character, looking like an American and wearing on African community attire is not a much common thing. This was much interesting to this guy. As it was necessary, I interviewed Bob Henry. Bob Henry's parent is Ken and Sarah originating from Africa and South America respectively. My discipline is Medicine, and although Bob doesn't have much knowledge of medicine, he had a nursing degree and used to work as a personal nurse to a Minister of agriculture in the Kenyan Government. Bob started the interview whereby question one was; how much experience he has about nursing and medicine in general? This took me back because I was just planning to write about nursing in general. This INTERVIEW TIPS AND STRATEGIES. 3 was because I believed that Bob is specialized only in nursing. During the interview, I was able to learn what he liked. I came to realize above things bob loved is gaining knowledge and learning new things. He loves reading much to the extent that it became addictive. His career goals were, to increase knowledge and, improve mind working processes, have more experiences and attain a role for leading. Bob is so bright in his demeanor, well behaved and full of self-respect. I asked Bob how is their culture and tradition? He narrated this; his father came from the Meru community. These were people of Bantu ethnic group that inhabit the lands of north and eastern parts of Mount Kenya, in Kenyan Eastern Province. Bob's father believed in Christ hence Bob has grown to be a Catholic Christian. In their traditions, Bob's community used to offer the blood sacrifice to their god called Murungu. I enjoyed the interview so much, for he was so trustful to everything he said, when I asked about their traditions, I got some knowledge on how they lived. He informed me that they were governed by councils of elders from the clan, right up Council of elders. To become a member of the council is the highest level to which a Meru man can attain. The elders are carefully selected and comprise of mature men. The boys were arranged in age groups and age sets. Bob was a leader to one of the age set. Examples of leisure activities Bob was involved in are bowling, bicycling, golfing, curling, walking, skiing, and swimming. However, not that Bob was involved in sportive activities only, sometimes he would rather spend his free time reading and listening to music or meditating to his different ideas. The last question was; what was his view concerning leadership? According to Meru community, not every character is elected to lead others. They consider many traits, for example, courage, sociality in you, ability to make the right decision and many other traits of a good INTERVIEW TIPS AND STRATEGIES. 4 leader. This means that Bob was a well-conducted young man in Meru community. Bob was among the people who settled the dispute among age mates and who maintained peace and order around them. To me, this is a success. This character trait is not found in many people we have around hence, meeting this guy was a special thing to me. My interview based on Middle East culture. Therefore I picked one interviewee by the
name Hassan. Hassan came from Beirut which is one of the big cities in the middle east. I
interviewed Hassan generally on his life experience and cultural traditions on the middle east. I
asked Hassan about how he feels about his life experience and the cultural traditions of the middle
east? How was leadership conducted in the middle east? And what are the benefits of cultural
traditions to the locals of the middle east? Hassan answered all my questions thoroughly, and I
was able to learn a lot on the Middle East culture and traditions as well what people of middle east
usually experience in their lives.
Hassan seemed comfortable with his culture (middle east culture) as I could see satisfaction
on his face. Hassan informed me that their region has many different groups. According to Hassan,
although some groups speak different languages or have different religions, they all have a culture
which they hold on. He told me that strangers should be able to understand their common culture
so as not to offend the Middle Eastern (Hareven Tamara 317). Hassan also said to me that there

are only three religions in the Middle East which are; Judaism, Islam and Christianity. He said that
the three religions each have their own believes which they follow.
Hassan informed me that the dressing in the middle east is different because, in big cities
like Dubai, Beirut or Tel Aviv, both locals as well as tourists mostly wear T-shirts and shorts
during summer. But in case they are to visit any religious site they are required to dress
accordingly. Also in some of the religions in the middle east, both married men, as well as women,
cannot touch people of opposite sex like shaking hands or hugging. Hassan warned me on
discussing politics in the middle east because there is more tension that exists in the region
(Meriwether Margaret 190).
Hassan also told me that most the middle eastern cultures observe hospitality. According
to him, this is a natural habit which partially comes from Bedouin culture, where the harsh desert
conditions implied that the nomadic travellers were every time welcomed in the home as well as
given food, shelter, water or whatever they asked for. Most of the middle east hotels still use this
hospitality tradition in all the services as well as the amenities that they provide (Milton-Edwards
Beverley 230). Also according to Hassan, you cannot find pork in middle east restaurants unless
in tourist site. Majority of the restaurants, as well as grocery stores, follow the Kashrut laws for
Judaism or the Halal laws for Islam. Which means that the meat should be Kosher or be Halal,
which each was having different rules.
Hassan was able to explain to me on the leadership in the mi...
