yes.....X(with uppercase) is basically the dominant gene that is normal, means with no disorder and x(with lowercase) is a recessive gene with disorder.

so when a female has XHXh she is a carrier and when she has XhXh she is affected?

yes.....carrier means she has the recessive gene and not get affected but she can transfer that recessive gene to the next generation
