Communication is the exchange of information through writing, speaking, or using any
other communication medium, (Redding, 1972). In conversation, we have the sender and the
receiver. The sender directs information to the receiver. Communication is a two-way process of
attaining mutual understanding. The participants create and share meaning. This indicates that the
participants are in a position to understand one another. The two participants must be aware of a
common language, signs or symbols so that they can understand each other. Communication
occurs every time around us. It may be through non-verbal communication or verbal
communication. Non-verbal communication is where the exchange of information is done through
the use of gestures and body language while verbal communication is through word of mouth.
In an organization setting, communication is significant. Effective communication is
