Question description

Most sizable manufacturing facilities have an EMS for normal day-to-day use during production and when there is an environmental issue. However, the EMS needs to be updated with process changes when they occur. The corporate Health, Safety, & Environmental manager is typically responsible for the EMS and its implementation. The cost associated with creating and updating can be substantial.

Enter this forum and analyze, in detail, the pros and cons of having an EMS. Do you think that every manufacturing facility, no matter its size and capacity, should have an operating EMS? Why or why not? Should manufacturing size capacity be considered before preparation of an EMS?
