Description
Part of the reading for this week addresses different workplace motivation theories. Think of a time when you (individually or as part of a team) were unhappy or unmotivated on the job. Why was this the case? Did a manager or other operational personnel provide incentives or rewards to increase motivation? If so, was it successful, and if not, what else might they have done to increase employee motivation and effort?

Dear writer, My background is in retail. I work in retail stocking groceries. I always feel unmotivated at my job because the managers do not hold people to the same standards, or they put one plan in place but do another. It seems that one plan can never be seen through to the end. They hold us accountable for so much but it never seems to pay off.
