The next 11 questions are related to the titration of 25.00 mL of a 0.0800 M acetic acid solution with 0.0700 M KOH. Assume that the temperature is 25 oC. 

1)What is the initial pH of the analyte solution?

Answer 1:

pH = −log conc[H+]
(this is the decadic logarithm or log10)
concentration = moles ÷ volume
= 0.07 mol / 0.25dm³ = 0.28mol/dm³
−log 0.28 = 0.55284196865

so pH = 0.553 

the intial pH of the analyte solution is 0.55
(0.25dm³ = 25mL)
