I think you didn't give the question properly.

I assume that X(27.51) is combining with the Y(88.90)



We use the ratio to solve this.

Atomic mass of X / 27.51-g of X = Y(amu) / 88.90-g of Y

Then, we get

          33.42 / 27.51     =   Y of atomic mass / 88.90

      Y's atomic mass = 88.90  *  33.42 / 27.51

     Y's amu = 107.998

     rounding to the nearest integer

   Y's amu = 108

 Hence

the atomic mass of  Y =108
