In ΔFGH, f = 800 inches, ∠F=21° and ∠G=45°. 

Find the length of h, to the nearest 10th of an inch.

In this triangle we know:

  • angle f = 21°
  • angle g = 45°
  • and side f = 800

It's easy to find angle h by using 'angles of a triangle add to 180°':

  h= 180° − 21° − 45° = 114°

We can also find side a by using The Law of Sines:

f/sin f = h/sin h

800/sin(21°) = h/sin(114°)

h = (800 × sin(114°))/sin(21°)
  h= 2040 inch
