In ΔLMN, n = 51 inches, ∠M=92° and ∠N=50°. 

Find the length of l, to the nearest 10th of an inch.

  • angle M= 92°
  • angle N = 50°
  • and side N = 51inch

It's easy to find angle h by using 'angles of a triangle add to 180°':

  L= 180° − 92° − 50° = 38°

We can also find side a by using The Law of Sines:

n/sin n = l/sin l

51/sin(50°) = L/sin(38°)

  L= (51 × sin(38°))/sin(50°)
  L= 40  inch
