Philosophy entails an exploration of fundamental and general problems relating to
different aspects of human life such as existence, values, knowledge, language, mind as well as
reason. There are numerous contributors to philosophy most renowned being Plato, Aristotle and
Socrates for their profound contribution in broadening the view of humanity particularly in
philosophies of the human soul, the good life and as to whether babies are born impure or pure.
The philosophies offer both comparing and contrasting views which in either way broaden the
understanding of humanity. As such, this discussion seeks to provide a critical reflection of these
philosophies.
The human soul
To start with, it is a clearly defined reality that every human being is will once die
irrespective of his or her status, power, and mightiness. On this note, therefore, it is important to
recognize that the fundamental interest of the philosophers has not been on the question of as to
whether people will die but instead as to whether there is the human soul that sticks around after
death. Socrates and Plato were the major proponents of dualism, a philosophy that tried to argue
