High reliability organizations (HROs) are organizations that have developed methods for achieving safety despite hazardous conditions (e.g., the airline industry). Literature suggests that it possible for health care organizations to also become HROs. For this assignment, research the concept of HROs, and discuss how they can transform health care covering the following topics:
- Discuss why little progress has been made in health care toward becoming an HRO.
- Explain what improvements can be made or adopted by health care organizations that strive to become HROs, and discuss the role of the patient, provider, and other stakeholders.
- Explain the potential interest of the payer in an HRO.

In a nutshell, high reliability Organizations are those Organizations which have succeeded in
evading catastrophes in environments where the normal incidents of accidents are expected
because of the many risks and complexities (Daved van Stralen, 2018). Currently, the air traffic
control system has been set up in attempts to counter any accidents that have not been fathomed.
According to research, successful entities in high risk areas are re-inventing themselves daily.
For example, in case an incident commanding team realizes that their earlier thought to be a fire
in the garage has escalated to hazardous incidents, they then restructure their response to the
issue. Conversely, there exist some traits of HROs which have been pinned after in-depth
research. This keeps responsible for HRO-organizations in attempts to counter the unexpected.
