ENGR 355 โ€“ FINAL PROJECT FALL 2018 DESIGN A FREQUENCY DETECTOR CIRCUIT THAT WILL DETECT DIFFERENT RANGES OF FREQUENCY Specifications: 1. Your input signal will be 5 ๐‘‰๐‘โˆ’๐‘ sinusoidal signal of range 0-20 kHz 2. Your design must contain three light emitting diodes (LEDs) to indicate the different range of frequencies. 3. Your design must consist of the components (Op-amp, Filters) you have used this semester. 4. For input frequencies of range up to 160 Hz LED1 should be ON LED2 should be OFF LED3 should be OFF 5. For input frequencies of range up from 750 Hz to 2.5 kHz LED1 should be OFF LED2 should be ON LED3 should be OFF 6. For input frequencies of range from 7.5 kHz and above LED1 should be OFF LED2 should be OFF LED3 should be ON Your final report MUST include following items: o Preliminary design with all theoretical calculations required to build the circuit. This should be comprehensive and should cover every relevant steps (50%). o Picture of the final circuit, results, discussion and conclusion must be included in the report (50%). The report is due on Thursday, December 13rd, 2018 (on or before 12:00am). Please bring hard copy of your report to my office, PANG213. Late submission will only receive 80% of total grade. Hints: 1. There are three LEDs connected to three branches of the circuit. Each branch has two main sections: Filters and Non-Inverting Amplifier using Op-Amp. 2. From the given specification, design three different types of filters: (a) For LED1 to meet the specification of step 4, design a Low-pass filter with cut-off frequency is 160 Hz. Choose proper values of R and C (b) For LED2 to meet the specification of step 5, design a Band-pass filter. Band-pass filter can be created by cascading a low-pass filter and a high-pass filter. The lower cut-off is 750 Hz and higher cut of is 2.5 kHz. (c) For LED3 to meet the specification of step 6, design a High-pass filter with cut-off frequency is 7.5 kHz. Choose proper values of R and C 3. To light on the LEDs, the input signal will need to be amplified so that there are enough voltage crossing the LEDs.
