  • Describe the process you went through to reach agreement on the final sizing of each work effort.

Assignment Ground Rules: Along with partners, play estimation poker for the following scenarios.

  • Discuss your assumptions and any clarifying questions you may have for each other prior to playing the first round of poker.
  • After each round of poker, discuss why you “voted” the way you did. Then play another round of poker after your discussion.

Poker Estimation Process

As an Adult
Estimation Process
The estimation process started with a contribution from each member. Every team member was
required to present his assumption concerning the relationship between falling and not tying the
shoe races when comes to adults (Cohn, 2017)The points are noted down, compared, discussed
and summarized to reach into a consensus. There are a Product Owner, moderator and three
more individuals who are the team members. The moderator is recording all the estimation by
the team members. The card is picked and discussion is welcomed by the team members.
Problem Encountered
Some of the members are contributed while they have lost their temper. A domineering
personality which makes some members dominate the contribution and others lacking time to
give their views. Assumptions are not being completed within the stipulated time, there is much
discussion. There was time wastage as discussions do not take on time, it is difficulty in starting.
Some members are not active and some of the ideas are not discussed as a team, Conflict within
members which made their contribution ineffective.

Some of the Assumptions
The assumptions were based on opinions, facts and arguments like; the shoes may not
necessarily make one fall if the shoe races are not tied. Other factors will matter, like the way

you walk. Before the athletes go to the field they have to tie their shoes tight, they know one can
fall. Are you careful while walking?, Stress and other psychological problems which might
interfere with walking. Another one, I slightly agree on your opinion that shoe races may not
matter much, however, it is important...
