Hypothetical: The U.S. government is considering closing the state/federal vocational rehabilitation program in a budget cutting measure to reduce overall spending in programs it has deemed as a non-necessity. You are a lobbyist for the VR profession and have been given the opportunity to educate them on the benefits of VR and the reasons the state/federal program should remain in the federal budget. Include in your essay both ethical and economic arguments.
Select one disability group that was discussed and reviewed in the course (physical disabilities, psychiatric disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, visual impairments, hearing loss, substance use disorders, etc.) and provide an overview of the disability group along with the needs and special considerations of that group. Suggest a course of treatment for a hypothetical individual in that disability group including different services that may be provided and resources that might be used.
