A plane is moving due north, directly towards its destination. Its airspeed is 200 mph. A constant breeze is blowing from west to east at 20 mph. In which direction is the plane pointed?

Draw travel path of plane as line of 200 units towards North (upwards) on the paper. From the top of the line, draw wind flow as a horizontal line at 90° angle of 20 units towards west (Leftwards).

Now connect the end point to starting point. The Hypotenuse of the triangle became the direction the
plane Pointed .
Direction in terms of angle can be find as follows : sin x = 20/200 or sinx = 0.1

or x = Sin^(-1) (0.1) = 5.7° (Answer)
