I thought that the answer was -2^4-17x^3-8x+(-3)
because 8x and -3 are different terms, I was unsure if the -8x+(-3) should have been - 8x-3 instead? Can you tell me where I went wrong please?
Add the 2 polynomials: ( – 5x4 – 9x3 – 8x) + (3.24 – 8x3

I think the answer you give is correct, but to me is:
-2x^4 - 17x^3 - 8x - 3, it's not +(-3). I think you put +(-3), the syntax will not understand. ^_^
