Process: Please critically analyze the concepts of ‘conglomeration’ in context of the media industries. Your report should answer the following question: 1. What are the potential benefits (synergy) and harms that may result from concentrated media ownership? 2. Please select examples from the local/regional media industries where you can see the above mentioned expansion trends in action. Select a specific company or companies, either from the cases you have discussed in this course, from your real life experience, from newspaper articles, or from the web, and describe how these strategies are being implemented Deliverables: • You will present your findings by preparing a written report. • Project report should be approximately 2000 words (max) excluding Table of contents/references. Advertising is a showcasing strategy including paying for space to boost a product,
service, or cause. Advertisements are the promotional messages used to convey the information.
The objective of running advertisements is to contact individuals likely to be potential buyers of
the company's product and persuade them to make a purchase. It involves making something
well known to the general public. This is usually done through paid media. A case of advertising
is an organization exclusively practicing in designing and actualizing newsprint advertisements
for other organization's products (Kim 2014, p. 81). Advertisements are communicated through
various mass media methods such as Radio, television, newspapers, among others.
The motivation behind running Adverts is to create awareness of the product's existence
to consumers and persuade them that an organization's products and services are the best. Build
Company’s image, and reputation makes consumers identify a need for the product or service,
show new uses for already established products, and create awareness for new products, among
other purposes (Kim 2014, p. 90). The advertisement also helps to induce consumers to purchase
promotion techniques that aid in accomplishing business objectives. It builds the chance to
uncover your item and brand which changes the manner in which the business trades.
Media houses run the above practices. Media incorporates each communicating and
narrowcasting medium. It conveys the desired information to a more extensive group of people.
The different types of media – principally Television, newspapers, and radio – spread and
disperse information. By using media to pass information, the information is spread more than it
could be covered without media inclusion (Napoli 2014, p. 34). The recent growth and expansion
of media houses have had a positive impact on advertising and other promotional practices.

The commitment for public media is to deliver programs and services that advise,
