Role of a Manager Within the Functional Areas of Business
The manager’s role is crucial in all business. The manager is one of the most important pieces in the business, because he is the one that has to identify problems or successes in the business and be able to respond to them with effectiveness, he has to have precise knowledge of the different departments of the company.   In my presentation, I will discuss the various   departments according to MBA overview.

I agree with the manager's role described it in our Management book, Chapter 1. However, I want to focus on the Service Manager’s role at Wells Fargo. After reading several publications, I found one very interesting in the Library of the University that describes exactly the Service Manager’s functions on a day to day people management (Tiffany, 2011, p. 7) This article explain 4 important roles:
Set clear expectations, proactively support performance, monitor and measure performance, and promptly acknowledged performance.
Setting clear expectations gives your team clear definition of their responsibility, expectations and company rolls. Proactive support performance allows the manager to participate in an active way to supervise the employees.   As a manager one has to be sure that the team is following procedures that are expected from them at work in daily basis.
Monitor and measure performance helps to see the development of your daily goals and help with immediate feedback. As a manager, you have the opportunity to analyze a team member's performance, rewarding excellence or identifying his opportunity for improvement.
Promptly acknowledging   performance,   helps the manager to   keep feeding the team member's information with training, coaching, and giving the tools and resources for their success in the business. These four functions fit perfectly in what I used to do as a Service Manager...........this needed more than the stipulated 20 minutes. Not possible to answer 1,050 words in 20 minutes! consider posting as a 3 hour question for quality and well analysed answer!

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
