Digital marketing experience
From my experience, I have learnt that creating a website or developing a mobile app for
digital marketing is not enough. I worked in an organization that had no in-depth knowledge of
digital marketing, and it only used the address for its website on its business cards! We kept
wondering why there was no traffic on the site or even a closed sale from the website or the
social media platforms.
What I have learnt from my experience is there are other essential tools in digital
marketing that if used prudently can be used to boost sales, retain customers, attract new
customers and improve on the customer experience. Through search engine optimization the
brand has more visibility which helps in attracting potential new customers. The optimization
doesn’t necessarily use the name of the firm as we did in our previous company but can also
include the features of the product such that a user who is searching for a product through either
its functions or attributes to be driven to the website.
Another potent tool in digital marketing I have come to learn is content marketing. I feel
inspired by the Groupe Renault Dacia campaign during the world cup use of content marketing.
