Chapter 2 discusses the notion of competitive advantage. Is it possible to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage, or is a sustainable competitive advantage just a theory?

Hi,

First we begin by explaining what competitive advantage is;

by definition, competitive advantage refers to an advantage a company enjoys over a competitor gained by offering consumers and customers greater value, either through lowering prices or by providing greater benefits and satisfaction as well as services that justifies higher prices.

it is possible for a firm to achieve competitive advantage over another competitor firm.Apple, IPAD, TiVo,Netflix, Starbucs, Walmart are firms that do have sustainable competitive advantage over each other in terms pricing of their products.Apple produces high quality products that gives them a greater sustainable competitive advantage over their competitors because it produces devices that run over iOS where as their competitors produces devices that run over google and android.
