MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR
After surrendering the USA demanded what they wanted from Mexico. The MexicanAmerican war was motivated by the desire to control bigger territories. American wanted to
control and unite the whole continent one nation but Mexico wanted to have a bigger territory.
The war happened between 1846 and 1848. One of the notable events that led to the war was
American annexation of Texas in 1845. The treaty of Guadalupe brought the war to an end and
made Mexico to release the territories the USA wanted in 1848. Mexican-American War was
justified for both sides for many reasons. I believe Mexican American war was not justified
because Mexico was forced into a war they did not want. They surrendered but USA troops
continued to advance into Mexico while negotiation could easily solve the problem.
America went into war with Mexico because the USA wanted war so as to expand their
territories. When James Polk became the president of the USA, decided to invade Mexico so as
to gain hold of the territories he wanted to control. As a result, he sent thousands of troops to
invade California and New Mexico. The inversion was with an aim of stretching from Atlantic to
the Pacific Ocean. This land as described belonged to Mexico. The main intention by the
President James Pork was to convert the entire continent into a single country. Therefore, the
