This paper explains the differences between liberal and totalitarian democracies
on the basis of; rule of law, equality, protection of individual rights and freedom,
pluralism, and the economic concept as the key factors to which the two democracies are
based. Liberal democracy is a system of government that protects and acknowledges
individual rights and freedoms, and by which political power is exercised by the rule of
